Achievements of ISRO from 2008 to 2019

About ISRO :

ISRO - Indian space research organization is the national space agency of India. It was founded on 15 august 1969 by Vikram Sarabhai. ISRO ranks at no. 5 in the world, Only after space agencies of the USA, China, Europe, and Russia. ISRO takes its orders directly from the Prime Minister Office of India. Achievements of ISRO from 2008 to 2019 -

1. Chandraayan-1 :

India's first moon mission(Chandraayan-1) is known for its significant results in the discovery of the presence of water on the lunar surface. And It also detected Hydroxyl (HO) molecules on the lunar surface. This moon mission contained a lunar orbiter and an impactor, and launched from Satish Dhawan space center, Sriharikota, on 22 Oct 2008.

2. Mars Orbiter Mission :

The Mars Orbiter Mission(also called Mangalyaan or MOM) was India's first interplanetary mission, which made India - the fourth country to reach mars after Rosocomso, NASA, and ESA. Also, India became the first nation to reach Mars in its first attempt. The net cost of the MOM mission was about ₹450 Crore (US$73 million), making it a less cost-effective mission to the red planet. The mission was launched on 5 November 2019.

3. Astrosat :

Astrosat is India's first dedicated astronomy satellite, which was launched on 28 September 2015 by the rocket PSLV-XL. We can say that it was India's Hubble telescope. Astrosat-2 is also planned to launch in late 2020 or delayed to 2021.

4. PSLV-C37 :

PSLV-C37 was the 39th mission of the PSLV - Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, which successfully carried and deployed a record of 104 satellites in sun-synchronous orbits. It was launched on 15 February 2017. It broke the earlier track record of Russia's 37 satellites.

5. Chandrayaan-2 :

For this mission, ISRO developed an orbiter, a Vikram lander, and a 6 - wheeled robotic.  Pragyan rover for exploration of the lunar surface.

The main goal of this moon mission was to study water ice on the south polar region and help to map 3D maps of the lunar surface.

The orbiter had a period of 7 years, and both rover and lander had a period of 14 days. The orbiter is fine ok and will going to serve for 7 years, but the lander(with rover) had a hard landing(crashed) on the surface. This moon mission was failed, but by this mission, Isro reaches the moon more closer. It was launched on 22 July 2018.

6. Reusable Launch Vehicle – Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD) -

Reusable Launch Vehicle – Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD) is India's first uncrewed flying testbed for ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicle Technology Demonstration Programme. On 23 May 2016, RLV-TD is successfully completed its test flight. It will take 10 to 15 years for the complete development of Reusable Launch Vehicle Technology.
In the demonstration, ISRO's RLV looks like Space Shuttle-like craft. The craft will take a payload to space and then return back to Earth, like ordinary aircraft.
